The Indianapolis Foundation Awards $1 Million+ To Area Libraries, Cultural and Community Organizations

The Indianapolis Foundation, an affiliate of the Central Indiana Community Foundation and the Foundation’s Library Fund awarded more than $1.3 million in grants and awards to 33 not-for-profits and libraries serving Marion County on September 11, 2012. The Foundation granted $4,982,607 in 2012 and has awarded more than $196 million since it began making Community Fund grants in 1924.

The grants were awarded to the organizations listed below within the following categories: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Civic & Community Involvement, and Health & Human Services. Two of the Library Fund grants will be used to further digitalization projects at IUPUI University Library. A third grant of $266,500 will help 32 Marion County high schools improve their library resources.
