The Central Indiana Senior Fund, a fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation, received the 2012 Impact Award at the Central Indiana Council on Aging (CICOA) annual meeting on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Previous recipients of the award include The James Proctor Fund for Aged Men and Women in Marion County (a CICF donor-designated fund) in 2011, and Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust in 2010. CICOA President and CEO Orion Bell gave the award.
Since its inception at CICF in 2004, the Senior Fund has awarded 210 grants, and funded the Elders At the Table (EAT) Initiative for a total investment in seniors of $5,222,427.
“Our vision is to improve the quality of life for older adults in central Indiana,” said Ms. Patricia “Patty” Prosser, Central Indiana Senior Fund board Chair. “We are very proud to be recognized for our impact while remaining acutely aware of the tremendous needs that exist in this rapidly growing population, and the responsibility our entire community shares in meeting those needs.”
