Greetings! My name is Mary Stanley, and after 15 years in private practice and 10 years as a community volunteer and stay-at-home mom, I am blessed to have found the perfect job at CICF! I love helping charitably-minded people and their professional advisors navigate the philanthropic landscape and figure out the most effective methods of making meaningful charitable gifts.

Mary is Senior Gift Planning Advisor for Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). In her role, she provides charitable gift planning strategies and advice to individuals, families, businesses, private foundations, and charitable organizations, together with their respective professional advisors.

Mary is an active member of the Indianapolis community. She has served on the boards of the IU School of Law – Indianapolis Board of Visitors, Indianapolis Civic Theatre, Indianapolis Garden Club, Park Tudor School, The Dramatic Club, Inc., and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Mary has served on the steering committees of several charitable organization capital campaigns and most recently chaired St. Paul’s $8 million capital campaign, which successfully exceeded its goal. Mary also has volunteered in many capacities with charitable organizations focused on relieving local homelessness and is an active member of St. Paul’s Mission in Mombasa, which supports a center for street boys in Mombasa, Kenya.

Mary is a member of the Estate Planning and Administration Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Planned Giving Group of Indiana, the National Committee on Planned Giving, and the Council on Foundations Advancement Network.

Mary recently earned the designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) from The American College. Mary is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Arizona and graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. Prior to joining CICF, she was partner at Baker & Daniels law firm, where she practiced law from 1982-1998.
