Greetings! My name is Mary Stanley, and after 16 years in private practice and 10 years as a community volunteer and stay-at-home mom, I feel blessed to have found the perfect job at CICF! I love helping charitably-minded people and their professional advisors figure out the most effective methods of making meaningful charitable gifts in support of their favorite charities or philanthropic causes.
Mary is Director of Charitable Gift Planning and Legal Affairs for Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). In her role, she provides charitable gift planning strategies and advice to individuals, families, businesses, private foundations, and charitable organizations, together with their respective professional advisors. Mary feels blessed that the majority of her job involves helping charitably-minded people and their professional advisors figure out the most effective methods of making meaningful charitable gifts in support of their favorite charities or philanthropic causes.
Mary is an active member of the Indianapolis community and her church. She has served on the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law Board of Visitors and as president of Indianapolis Garden Club, vice-president of the Dramatic Club, Inc., and secretary of the Park Tudor School Board of Directors. At St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Mary has served as Senior Warden, chairman of the recent capital campaign and co-chairman of the recent rector search committee.
Mary is a member of the Estate Planning and Administration Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, and the Council on Foundations Advancement Network, and serves as Vice President of the board of the Planned Giving Group of Indiana.
Mary has earned the designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) from The American College, is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Arizona and graduated magna cum laude from IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Prior to joining CICF, she was partner at Baker & Daniels law firm, where she practiced law from 1982-1998.
