I’m Kay Whitaker and am humbled to manage generations of donor’s funds and believe we do so in a way that keeps our community thriving. Our team pays attention to the details to maintain integrity of the financials. My husband and I love this city full of our friends with whom we share great experiences.


Kay serves as Chief Financial Officer for Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). This role provides executive leadership to Finance, Operations, and Administrative functions assuring an appropriate framework to support CICF’s strategies. She has the primary responsibility to manage, organize, review, and evaluate CICF’s financial management.

Kay provides leadership and assistance to the Board’s financial committees on budgeting, compliance, technology, facilities, and human resources issues. She is responsible for executing on the Joint Investment Board’s recommendations for the CICF endowment portfolio. She coordinates the direction and central planning necessary for the successful financial operations of the Foundation and its 800 separate funds, including developing, recommending, and implementing policies and related processes.

Kay came to CICF in 2007 with a broad background in the private and public sectors, most recently as a finance operations consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She served CGCU, a public charitable trust, initially building its non-regulated energy investment portfolio before becoming Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.

Kay is active in numerous professional and community organizations. She serves as Treasurer to the Boards of the Indiana Neighborhood Housing Partnership and Trinity Episcopal Church and is active in the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Churches. She is a member of the AICPA and Indiana CPA Society and participates in the Council of Foundation’s Fiscal & Administrative Officer’s Group. Kay represents CICF on More For Mission and Co-Chairs the Grameen Indianapolis Advisory Board.

A graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, Kay received her undergraduate in Accounting and her MBA in International Business.
