Earn the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAPĀ®) designation from The American College

CICF is proud to partner with The American College to offer live weekly classes for the courses needed to earn the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) designation from The American College.  In order to obtain the CAP designation, you must pass the exams that cover three areas of study in philanthropy:  Charitable Giving (GS 839), Charitable Giving Applications (GS 849) and Charitable Giving:  Managing the Tools, the Applications and the Relationships (GS 859).

We will be hosting weekly classes for the first course – Charitable Giving – beginning August 19 for eight consecutive weeks, facilitated by a professional in our community with the CAP designation from The American College.  This will be a small class (maximum of 15) and we are offering this to you or your colleagues first before we open it up to the public.  We will be offering facilitated review classes for the other two courses in early and mid 2009.

Here are the details:

GS 839 – Charitable Giving

This review course consists of eight (8) sessions, covering two (2) assignments each week.

WHEN:  Tuesday, August 19 through October 14 (weekly, every Tuesday)

TIME:  7:30 – 9:00 a.m.

WHERE:  CICF – Broad Ripple Office – 1405 Broad Ripple Ave.

PROGRAM COST:  $125 class fee (payable to CICF), in addition to The American College course tuition fee ($920 per course + a one-time $125 Admission Fee)

WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM A CAP DESIGNATION:  The CAP program is designed to assist anyone who advises clients about long-term planning for financial assets, including attorneys, CPAs, planned giving officers, financial planners/wealth advisors and insurance professionals.
