Cindy Porteous

Cindy serves as Executive Director of the Indianapolis Parks Foundation, supporting organization of Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). Indianapolis Parks Foundation was created in 1991 as a nonprofit organization, specifically to enhance the recreational, educational, and cultural life of the Indianapolis community by encouraging and soliciting support for the parks system.

Cindy is responsible for overall management of the Indianapolis Parks Foundation. She works to secure adequate funds to support Indy Parks and Recreation through private contributions to the Parks Endowment Fund and Land Trust Fund. Cindy is an advocate for park issues, and inspires citizen participation to encourage a flourishing parks system.

Prior to joining the Indianapolis Parks Foundation in 2000, Cindy served as Executive Director of the National Association for Health & Fitness, Director of Development & Marketing with the Ruth Lilly Center for Health Education, and Director of Development with I-STAR.

Community and professional activities include the Indiana Chapter of The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Northwood Christian Church.
