About the Fund

Women’s Fund is a special interest fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) that supports programs and organizations that work to improve the conditions and opportunities for women and girls in central Indiana. An advisory board of community leaders from central Indiana directs the Women’s Fund. The members of the board are active in all decision-making and policy development for the Fund, including all grantmaking decisions. Grants particularly support economic empowerment, health, and selfdevelopment programs.

By creating an endowment, Women’s Fund has a virtually unlimited system for giving. As the interest grows, so will the number of central Indiana women and girls whose lives will be enriched. The assets given build interest over the years, which is distributed in the form of grants. An endowment allows for flexible funding decisions based on changing needs, allowing you to make a lasting difference in our community. With such a broad impact, Women’s Fund is appropriate for all types and sizes of gifts.

Through a competitive process, publicly supported 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations apply for grants and are selected based on the merits of their projects and their capacity to meet community needs. Community endowment funds address a variety of everyday needs as well as emergency situations.
