CICF and its affiliates offer you several options to support degree attainment for promising students.

Expand Existing Scholarships
Generous donors have established dozens of scholarships funds to meet a wide range of student needs.

CICF’s Community Scholarship Endowment Funds help young people graduating from high schools in Hamilton and Marion Counties who show both academic promise and financial need.  Many are the first in their family to attend college, and many have faced family health, disability, and parenting hardships.  These scholarships are an important sign of belief in their talents and determination.

You can make a gift of any size to our Community Scholarship Endowment Funds or other scholarship funds at CICF and its affiliates using CICF’s Gift Form or by using our instructions for gifts of stocks and bonds.  Complete a contribution form and write in the fund name(s) under “Designate my gift to a specific fund (provide name)”

Create Your Own Fund
You also have options to establish a scholarship fund at CICF that meets your particular interests and passions.

Note that in the summer of 2006, Congress significantly altered the requirements for a sponsoring organization (CICF) to administer scholarship funds.  A donor to a community foundation can no longer exclusively choose scholarship recipients, or exclusively appoint or control a scholarship selection committee.  CICF’s board must appoint an independent committee that awards scholarships.  A donor may serve as an advisor on that committee.

Success Story

Scholarships Make Dreams Come True
“As a past recipient, I know I would not be where I am today were it not for this award. Receiving a scholarship from Legacy Fund not only secured my financial future at Purdue, but propelled me into my college experience with a newfound confidence in myself and my ability to serve my community. I now sit on the other side of the table; the experience is no less rewarding or exciting for me.”
- Maggie Ogle, 1999 scholarship recipient and current Legacy Fund Scholarship Committee Member.
