CICF's board of 17 members is comprised of The Indianapolis Foundation's six Trustees, eight at-large members, and three Legacy Fund Board members. At-large members are nominated and selected by the CICF Board.
CICF will focus on overall Foundation governance and operations, acting as the “holding company” for the family of funds.

The original 1916 resolution of trust requires The Indianapolis Foundation to have six trustees. Two are appointed by the Mayor of Indianapolis; two by the Marion County Circuit Court Judge; and two by the presiding Judge of the United States District Court. Each member serves six-year terms.
