Privacy Policy

Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) is committed to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and security of personal information entrusted to us by current donors, potential donors and by staff of not-for-profit agencies who approach us for funding, and the people that they serve.

Collection and Use of your Personal Information

Like all organizations with a web presence, CICF receives standard tracking data when you visit our site. Information from your browser, including your IP address, pages visited, the length of time you spend on our site and files you download is recorded in our website server logs. We use and analyze this data to develop site content and continue to provide you with a positive experience when you visit our website. However, no personal information is collected during the tracking process. Personal information is only collected at this site when it is provided voluntarily by an individual while participating in an activity asking for the information.

We will not sell, rent, loan or otherwise share any personally identifying information you provide with any individual or organization. While we strive to protect the personal information of our users, CICF will release personal information if required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary or appropriate.

Security of your Personal Information

CICF uses some of the most advanced technology for Internet security available today. We have put into effect appropriate procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Once you provide us with personal, professional or financial information, that data remains confidential.

GiveGab (givegab.com) is CICF’s online donation vendor. GiveGab is a PCI-DSS Level I and SOC 1 Type 2 certified organization. They undergo an annual audit by an external QSA, which is typically performed and completed in Q2. Security requirements to be certified for both of these standards are rigid. As part of this, they are constantly performing external infrastructure scans as well as internal code scanning. Additionally, they are required to undergo and pass external penetration tests to ensure their systems and data are not vulnerable to security breaches.

GiveGab processes all donations directly through secure payment processors which means they do not store credit or debit card data at all, thus significantly reducing the risk of stolen card information. Your transaction’s security and personal privacy is CICF and GiveGab’s priority.

Use of Cookies

The CICF website uses “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you fill out a form on the CICF site, a cookie helps CICF to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as name, email address, and so on. When you return to the same CICF website page, the information you previously provided can be retrieved.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of websites you visit.
