About LifeSmart Youth
LifeSmart Youth guides young people to lead healthy and safe lives by providing school-based health education throughout Indiana. Founded in 1943, our organization has helped more than one million students develop the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions, build healthy relationships, care for their mental well-being, and protect their personal safety.
Our trained Health Educators partner directly with schools and community organizations to deliver age-appropriate, medically accurate, and evidence-informed programming. Our programs include Human Growth & Development, Rights, Respect, Responsibility (3Rs), Safe Dates, Mental Health Essentials, and personal safety education for younger students. Lessons are designed to create a safe and supportive environment where students can ask questions, learn from a trusted adult, and receive information that may not otherwise be available to them.
During the 2025–2026 school year, LifeSmart Youth reached 16,971 students across 80 schools, 15 school districts, and nine summer sites. Altogether, our Health Educators provided more than 34,000 hours of education. Students demonstrated strong knowledge gains across our programs, including Human Growth & Development, healthy relationships, dating violence prevention, and mental health.
Funding helps LifeSmart Youth keep these programs accessible to schools regardless of their ability to pay. Donations support Health Educator salaries and training, classroom materials, curriculum costs, travel to schools throughout Indiana, program evaluation, and direct student resources such as mental wellness kits and youth resource cards. Funding also allows us to expand into additional schools and communities where students may have limited access to reliable health education.
Every gift helps ensure that more young people receive the information, skills, and support they need to make healthy choices today and throughout their lives.
