Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship – Marion County

Description

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program is designed to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana, increase awareness of the beneficial roles Indiana community foundations can play in their communities and encourage efforts of Lilly Endowment Community Scholars to engage with each other and with state leaders to improve quality of life in Indiana.

This scholarship is only for students who are nominated by their guidance counselor, and is not an open application.

Students who are nominated but not selected as finalists for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship in Marion County may be considered for an award from the Insley Mayer Scholarship Fund and the Wilbur L. Appel, Sr. and Gertrude S. Appel Scholarship Fund. No additional application materials are required.

Resident Criteria
  • Marion County residents
Degree Criteria
  • Full-time baccalaureate course of study at a public or private college or university in Indiana
Additional Criteria
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Graduate by the end of June 2026 with a diploma from an accredited Indiana high school, but not have graduated before the start of the 2025-2026 school year (students graduating mid-year are eligible)
  • Plan to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study beginning in the fall of 2026 at a public or private college or university in Indiana
  • Demonstrate a commitment to community volunteerism
  • Demonstrate leadership and/or initiative in their school, community and/or extracurricular activities
