Hamilton County Behavioral Health Collaborative

The Behavioral Health Coalition works with county leadership to bring together professionals from across Hamilton County to address critical mental health challenges. With mental health provider shortages, rising rates of mental distress, and disparities in access across the county, coordinated action is more important than ever. By fostering collaboration, sharing expertise, and developing innovative strategies, we’re working to improve behavioral health support for all who call Hamilton County home.

Who We Are
A network of mental health professionals, hospital representatives, and community organizations dedicated to creating comprehensive, community-driven solutions for behavioral health needs.

Our Approach

  • Quarterly meetings to discuss county-wide mental health challenges
  • Specialized case study work groups
  • Crisis continuum support across organizations
  • Cross-organizational collaboration and data-sharing initiatives

What We Do

  • Analyze complex behavioral health issues across diverse populations
  • Develop holistic strategies for improving mental wellness and access
  • Share best practices, resources, and data to strengthen community response
  • Create targeted interventions, with a focus on gaps such as limited public insurance acceptance and access for bilingual and culturally diverse populations

Why Collaboration Matters

Mental health challenges are complex, interconnected, and often impacted by barriers such as lack of transportation, stigma, and a shortage of bilingual and Medicaid-accepting providers. By bringing together diverse professionals, we can:

  • Identify gaps in services and expand access to quality, affordable care
  • Create more effective, coordinated systems of support across agencies
  • Develop innovative solutions to address rising rates of mental health crises, including deaths of despair and suicide rates
  • Maximize community resources for a stronger, more resilient Hamilton County
