About Shepherd’s Center of Hamilton County

Shepherd’s Center of Hamilton County’s (SCHC) mission is to promote and support independent lifestyles for adults 55+ in Hamilton County. Our vision is to be known throughout Hamilton County as a trusted resource for connecting aging adults and caregivers with beneficial programs to support their independence, prevent isolation, and help people age in place as long as safely possible.

SCHC offers five main programs to help us achieve our mission. Together Today is our daily social program that provides socialization and prevents isolation. Community Caring connects volunteers with homebound, isolated, and financially fragile older adults to help them age in place. Reaching Resources offers intensive, home-based case management services to connect adults and caregivers with needed aging resources. The Counseling Program offers free therapy from licensed counselors to any aging adult or caregiver. The Hamilton County VASIA/Guardianship program allows SCHC to serve as the legal guardian to incapacitated adults to help them age with dignity.

All gifts received help ensure that all five of our key programs remain free of charge to any adult 55+ or those caring for an aging loved one in Hamilton County. Currently, it costs about $500 per client to provide them programming each year. It is our hope to continue to grow with the aging population in our community, so every gift will help this goal.
