About Exodus Refugee

For 44 years, Exodus Refugee Immigration, Inc. has been dedicated to the protection of human rights by serving the resettlement needs of refugees and other displaced people (such as asylees, Cuban/Haitian entrants, asylum seekers, Special Immigrant Visa holders, and victims of human trafficking) fleeing persecution, injustice, and war by welcoming them to Indiana. Our clients have fled persecution or violence in their home country and sought safety in the U.S. The agency resettles individuals and families representing many faiths and nationalities including individuals from Afghanistan, Burma, Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Haiti, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and other countries.

Exodus is part of a well-established network of providers for U.S. refugee resettlement; is the largest refugee resettlement agency in Indiana; and is the primary agency that serves refugee newcomers from arrival through self-sufficiency. When refugees arrive, Exodus provides access to housing, healthcare, culturally appropriate food, English classes, cultural orientation classes, employment services and school enrollment. Exodus also recognizes that refugees need on-going support to successfully start new lives here. Exodus provides integration programs to help these long-term needs, including our Women’s Program, Mental Wellness Program, Legal Services Program, and Youth Program.

Funding would be used to support Exodus’s work of supporting refugees and other humanitarian immigrants here in Central Indiana. Funding could support services like legal services, mental health programming, employment services, English classes, services for vulnerable populations like women, youth, and elders, or other supportive programming that helps refugees become self-sufficient here in Central Indiana.
