CICF is proud to walk alongside others who share our commitment to building a stronger, more equitable Central Indiana.
We provide philanthropic and operational support to a wide range of funds, foundations, and supporting organizations—each with its own unique mission, but all working to enhance our community. Our role is to do what we do best so our partners can focus on what they do best: working directly with the people and causes they’re most passionate about.
Created by area philanthropists and managed by the Philanthropy Team at CICF.
CICF provides personalized support to all of its funds, working closely with them to advance their philanthropic goals.
Since its inception in 2005, Central Indiana Senior Fund (CISF), a fund of CICF, has awarded more than $15 million to approximately 150 senior-serving or senior-focused nonprofits and programs in Central Indiana.
CISF’s mission is to support programs and opportunities for low-to-moderate-income older adults (ages 55 and older) with a focus on under-served or isolated populations. In addition to grantmaking, CISF has contracted The Polis Center to explore the data necessary to identify the unique and diverse needs of older adults in Central Indiana through the development of the State of Aging Report.
Since 2012, the OrthoIndy Foundation (OIF) has been committed to a mission of improving mobility and function, specifically for the residents of Central Indiana – with a particular emphasis on veterans and the elderly – by benefiting the end users to increase self-sufficiency, promote wellness, and improve the quality of life for those affected by orthopedic issues.
In 2024, OrthoIndy Foundation, a fund of CICF, reached a milestone of awarding $10 million in grants. Over the past 12 years, the OrthoIndy Foundation has provided support to numerous nonprofit organizations through its strategic grantmaking process. More than 840 grants have been awarded, benefiting more than 200 grantees. Notably, approximately 700 of these grants have been employee match contributions, totaling around $1.15 million.
Established in December 2012, the OrthoIndy Foundation operates under the guidance of the OIF Advisory Committee in collaboration with CICF.
CICF provides tailored services to the supporting organizations in the CICF Collaborative, based on their individual needs. Services include assistance with HR, finance, operations, or philanthropy, ensuring each organization can successfully fulfill its role in the community.
