About Arts for Learning Indiana
Arts for Learning Indiana is a nonprofit dedicated to transforming education through the arts. Since 1961, we have partnered with schools, educators, artists, and communities to ensure young people across Indiana have access to meaningful, high-quality arts learning experiences.
Through a network of 80 professional Teaching Artists, Arts for Learning provides arts-integrated programs, performances, residencies, workshops, and professional development in schools and community settings providing over 45,000 learning hours to youth annually. Using visual art, music, dance, theater, storytelling, and other creative disciplines, our programs deepen learning while building confidence, curiosity, communication skills, and a sense of belonging.
Philanthropic support is essential to making these experiences accessible. Arts for Learning underwrites 60–100% of program costs, helping ensure a school’s budget or a family’s ability to pay does not determine whether a young person can participate. Funding supports Teaching Artist fees, art supplies and materials, direct program expenses, and the staff and infrastructure needed to deliver and sustain high-quality arts learning.
At a time when many schools and community spaces face limited resources for arts education, every investment in Arts for Learning helps remove barriers and gives more young people the opportunity to experience the creativity, connection, and possibility the arts bring to their education and their lives.
