About Camptown
Camptown is an outdoor education and adventure nonprofit located in Indianapolis, Indiana, serving our community since 1991. Our mission is to challenge, mentor, and teach youth about life through outdoor adventure and nature programs that help build confidence, character, and hope. Since our inception, we have connected more than 60,000 youth to transformative outdoor adventures including backpacking, camping, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, climbing, and more. Camptown works with kids from across Central Indiana, facilitating our programs in partnership with high-needs schools, community centers, and parks & recreation departments. We prioritize partnerships with organizations that serve kids without reasonable access to parks and greenspaces in their communities. In 2024, 83% of our served population were eligible for free or reduced lunch at school and 69.7% identified as people of color. Funding from our supporters subsidizes our program costs, ensuring no student pays a fee- allowing kids to thrive in nature!
