For six decades, CAGI has remained steadfast in our mission “to eradicate poverty, promote upward mobility, and empower those we serve to become self-sufficient.” Today, in our service area across Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks, Marion and parts of Tipton counties, we continue to witness the barriers that stand in the way of lower-wealth families, barriers that require both compassion and practical, strategic investment. With your support, you help us respond in the most impactful way.

Through our WE CANN Champions initiative, we equip young people arriving with traumatic histories with workforce development tools, job readiness training, “dress for success” business suits, financial education workshops, and wellness support that help them move from survival to self-sufficiency. Our Affordable Housing efforts provide vital home-buyer education, rental and utility assistance to ensure safe, sustainable housing for our residents. A stable home is the foundation for children to thrive, for families to build income, and for communities to grow. For our senior population, we fund Senior Housing repairs and enhancements such as handrails, ADA-compliant toilets, and other safety modifications that empower older adults to safely age in place with dignity and independence. Since barriers often begin with basic unmet needs, your gift also supports food and transportation assistance removing immediate obstacles so families and individuals can access training, employment, medical care, or stable housing.

Additionally, your investment ensures that we coordinate programs effectively, collect and evaluate data meaningfully, and conduct community outreach so we deepen our reach and refine our impact.
