Free Press Indiana

Free Press Indiana is a nonprofit news organization with a mission to make sure every resident of Indiana has the local news they need. Our first newsroom, Mirror Indy, serves community-based journalism that informs and empowers Indianapolis residents to shape their city for the better.

Our journalism is people-powered, which means we are here for and by the local community. Donations keep our newsroom running and our reporters diving into community stories, and support programs such as Indy Documenters, which trains and pays Indy residents to take fact-check notes at local government and neighborhood meetings. And ultimately, donations allow us to keep our news free and accessible to all, which reduces barriers to accessing the information Hoosiers need.
