Heartland Film

Heartland Film brings independent cinema from around the world to Indianapolis through the Heartland Film Festival, Indy Shorts Film Festival, community outreach & education programs, and year-round screenings. These programs create opportunities for audiences to connect with diverse stories and artistic voices. Our programs expand access to the arts by partnering with local, national, and international nonprofits to reduce barriers that prevent communities from engaging with film. We also champion filmmakers by connecting them with broad audiences and cultivating spaces where creativity, artistic expression, and community can thrive. Through this work, Heartland Film strengthens the independent film ecosystem and supports the storytellers who shape it.

Donated funds will directly support Heartland Film’s core operations, enabling us to continue delivering high quality programs and services that advance our mission within the Indianapolis community.
