InteCare Veteran Services

To prevent Veteran homelessness and promote housing stability through a comprehensive and holistic person-centered approach that addresses the root causes of Veteran housing crises. We partner with the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Indiana Department of Veteran Affairs, and community organizations to provide housing and homelessness prevention for Veterans.

About InteCare Veteran Services

Every Veteran deserves a safe place to call home. InteCare Veteran Services, a program of InteCare, Inc., helps Veterans and their families overcome homelessness, prevent eviction, and build lasting housing stability.

Since 2013, we have worked alongside Veterans facing housing crises across 13 Indiana counties, including Marion and Hamilton counties. Our services include rapid rehousing, homelessness prevention, individualized case management, housing searches, and connections to benefits, employment resources, and health care. We meet Veterans where they are and work with them to develop practical plans based on their needs and goals.

Our approach begins with housing. Having a stable home gives Veterans and their families the foundation to address health concerns, pursue employment, strengthen relationships, and plan for the future. Our case managers help clients navigate available resources and coordinate with landlords, community organizations, and service providers to make that stability possible.

In 2025, InteCare Veteran Services served 484 Veterans through rapid rehousing and homelessness prevention and prevented 92 evictions. Behind these numbers are individuals and families gaining the security of a home and the opportunity to move forward.

Donor support helps address needs that government grants and other resources may not fully cover. Funding priorities include flexible assistance for housing-related expenses, transportation, essential household items, and other practical needs that can delay a move or threaten housing stability. Donations also support the individualized case management that helps Veterans access benefits, connect with community services, and work toward their goals.

For a Veteran moving out of homelessness, securing an apartment is a major milestone, but the work does not end at the front door. Basic household necessities and continued support can make a meaningful difference in maintaining that home.

Flexible gifts allow InteCare Veteran Services to respond to emerging needs and fill gaps in available assistance. With donor support, we can help more Veterans and their families move beyond a housing crisis toward stability, independence, and a place to call home.
