About Janus Developmental Services
We serve adults with disabilities in Hamilton County with the goal of giving purpose and meaning to their day. We do this by helping participants find and keep jobs out in the community. We also have groups go out in the community every day to do volunteer work. They deliver Meals on Wheels each week, go to Nursing Homes and do coffee breaks and game time, volunteer at the Humane Society and Food Banks at churches. They also just go out and enjoy nice weather at Parks and museums. We are always looking for help with funds to take them out to eat or enjoy a movie. We also have a wonderful art program in house where participants can do all kinds of art from painting, ceramics, needlework anything else that interests them and then we sell their items. Once they are sold the participant gets 60% of the sale price and 40% of the sale price goes to Janus to help continue the art program with supplies to make more artwork to sell. We are always looking for support for our Art Program as well. We also proved exercise for our participants with a Recreational Therapist. We have access to the Midland Trace Trail and go for walks and bike rides. We had three-wheel bikes donated so our participants can enjoy the trail on bikes. Last year we had two-seater bikes donated so people that cannot peddle a bike can still go out and enjoy the bike ride and the weather. We do corn hole and dance each week as well. We have an indoor track so no matter the weather they are able to walk and get exercise. We are always looking for partners to help us continue and expand our programs here at Janus.
