About Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc.
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB) is an environmental and community nonprofit with a mission to engage diverse communities to create vibrant public places, helping people and nature thrive. We’re an award-winning affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc.
Each year, KIB supports more than 400 community projects through staff, neighbors, and about 18,000 volunteers. Together, we address littering and illegal dumping, plant and maintain trees, create vibrant greenspaces, restore native habitats, and employ youth. Our core initiatives and funding needs include:
TREES & NATIVE HABITATS
We prioritize underserved neighborhoods as we make Indy a healthier and greener place to call home. We help neighbors turn vacant lots into parks, line streets with native trees, and restore habitat along waterways.
CLEAN NEIGHBORHOODS
We enhance civic pride by making our streets, sidewalks, and waterways more welcoming. From neighbors cleaning their blocks to crews keeping busy streets litter-free, Indy looks better after each KIB visit.
ENGAGED COMMUNITY
We equip folks from all over Indianapolis to get outside, meet their neighbors, and make a difference. They join us for summer jobs, corporate days of service, opportunities for residents, training for specialized volunteers, and more.
Since 1976, we’ve partnered with our neighbors and Indy’s community groups, government, and businesses in pursuit of a beautiful city for all of us. Our work results in residents who are proud to live in Indianapolis, people who take action, young professionals who are excited to work toward a sustainable future, and a healthier environment for us all.
Community support makes this work possible. Donations support all areas of KIB’s programming and essential operating costs, allowing us to continue making Indianapolis a better place to live, work, and play for many years to come.
