Kids Dance Outreach

Kids Dance Outreach (KDO) has been transforming the lives of thousands of children across Central Indiana since 2012 through accessible dance movement accompanied by live music. KDO brings programming directly into schools and community spaces, removing barriers to the arts for children of all backgrounds and abilities. Offered free of cost to families, our professional Dance Teaching Artists and Musicians lead programs that nurture creativity, build confidence, and strengthen essential life skills such as teamwork, empathy, and self-expression. From in-school programs that engage entire classrooms to adaptive programs for dancers with disabilities, KDO creates inclusive, joyful experiences where every child feels seen, valued, and supported.

Now more than ever, children need safe, supportive spaces to move, express themselves, and connect. With limited access to arts and movement programs, many children lack the opportunities they need to thrive. In response to this growing need, KDO is building a permanent home: the KDO Center. The Center will serve as a welcoming “third space” where children and families can gather, learn, and grow together, while expanding KDO’s reach and long-term impact.

As a nonprofit arts education organization committed to equity and access, KDO relies on the generosity of donors and community partners. We are currently seeking funding in two primary areas:

Operational Support

• Ensures that our programs remain free, covering Teaching Artists and Musicians, administrative salaries, program supplies, and program delivery across our community.

Reaching Beyond

• • Capital Campaign to help bring the KDO Center to life, creating a sustainable cultural and educational hub that allows us to serve more children, deepen community partnerships, and expand inclusive programming for years to come.

Support through CICF allows Kids Dance Outreach to sustain tuition-free, inclusive programming and advance the KDO Center, ensuring expanded access and lasting impact for children and families across our community.
