Nonprofit Rights & Responsibilities Seminar with Ice Miller LLP

On June 17, 2026, CICF hosted a Nonprofit Legal Rights & Responsibilities Seminar in partnership with Ice Miller LLP. We organized this session after hearing from nonprofits that they needed clear, reliable legal guidance on issues they are navigating right now.

Nonprofit leaders serving communities with diverse populations are increasingly facing complex questions related to policy enforcement, government interaction, and community care. This seminar focused on the rights and responsibilities nonprofit organizations and leaders should understand while balancing legal compliance, ethical leadership, and the protection and support of vulnerable individuals and families.

The session was designed especially for nonprofits that may serve international, immigrant, or transplant identities. It included a presentation from an Ice Miller attorney, followed by dedicated time for participant questions and discussion.

Through this session, participants explored how nonprofit leaders can respond thoughtfully, communicate clearly, and lead with integrity during times of uncertainty and heightened community need.
