Nonprofit Sustainability Office Hours

In response to the needs of nonprofits across Central Indiana, CICF is hosting a series of office hours to provide operational support to organizations throughout the community. These sessions are not fundraising opportunities, but a chance to connect with CICF subject matter experts and ask questions related to finance/accounting, operations, partnerships and more.

CICF is proud to lead this effort on behalf of the CICF Collaborative, which also includes Hamilton County Community Foundation, the Indianapolis Foundation, and Women’s Fund of Central Indiana.

Please feel free to share this opportunity with other nonprofits in your network that could benefit from operational guidance.

What to Expect:
  • Drop in any time during the posted office hour timeframe.
  • Depending on interest in this offering, there may be a wait to speak with the right expert.
  • Registration is encouraged (but not required). Telling us ahead of time what topic you’re seeking support with helps us ensure the right expert is available.
  • Each session will have a rotating set of experts. Not every topic area will be covered every time, so advance notice helps us better serve you.
  • When you arrive, you’ll be greeted and directed to a waiting area until your expert is available.
  • We’ll do our best to provide a quiet, semi-private space for your discussion.
  • If the right expert isn’t available onsite, we’ll work to schedule a time to connect with them later.
How to Prepare:
  • To help us support as many nonprofits as possible, please arrive ready to explain your need or challenge.
  • Bring any relevant documents, data, or summaries that will help us understand your situation quickly.
  • Think about what kind of guidance you’re hoping to receive; Do you need advice, a resource referral, or clarity on a process?
  • These conversations are designed to connect you with solutions or next steps, not to resolve complex issues onsite.
  • These sessions are focused on fundraising strategy, operations, legal compliance, organizational strategy, and partnerships rather than funding requests.
The information provided during CICF’s Nonprofit Sustainability Office Hours is for general informational and educational purposes only and should not be construed as legal, financial, or other technical advice. While the experts may offer insights based on legal and financial principles, this does not constitute legal, financial, or other professional advice, nor does it establish an attorney-client or financial advisor-client relationship. Always consult with a qualified legal or financial professional regarding your specific situation.

Note: Please choose the date that works best for you. If the subject matter expert isn’t available for that session, they will follow up to schedule a more convenient time.
