Event Description:

Bus Tours are an opportunity for donors and professional advisors to learn about an important community issue and the organizations and people making a difference in Central Indiana.

What You Will Learn:

Our philanthropic collaborative will host three Bus Tours in 2025. The first tour will focus on education and the role of philanthropy in supporting great schools, educators, and students in Indianapolis.

Agenda:

We’ll kick things off at our downtown location with a panel discussion to provide an overview and context of the education ecosystem in Indianapolis, and where and how philanthropy intersects. The panel will feature Stephannie Bailey, IPS Ed Foundation, Dr. Patrick H. Jones II, Melanated Leaders and Justin Ohlemiller, Stand for Children Indiana; Roderick Wheeler, Wheeler Social Impact, will moderate.

We will then visit Providence Cristo Rey High School (PCR) and one of Brightlane Learning’s school partners. At PCR, we’ll learn how this innovative school provides a classical education and a robust career-forward experience for first-generation high school students. Next, we’ll travel to Brookside Elementary to hear how Brightlane Learning supports students impacted by homelessness and housing instability with their personalized tutoring and academic support.
