Efroymson Family Fund is a donor-advised fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). The fund continues a long legacy of charitable commitment by the Efroymson family in central Indiana . Three generations, Gustave, Robert, and Dan, served without interruption on The Indianapolis Foundation Board of Trustees from 1919 to 1999. Currently, Lori Efroymson-Aguilera serves as a CICF board member. This fund perpetuates the family's philanthropic tradition in central Indiana and beyond.
Efroymson Family Fund was established with the following areas of interest:
- Natural Environment – To preserve biological diversity, primarily through habitat preservation; support is also directed to organizations that enable the public to enjoy the natural environment, primarily through greenways, trails, and nature preserves.
- Welfare of the Disadvantaged – To improve the lives of the disadvantaged. The Fund supports programs, initiatives, and organizations that help people become self-sufficient, contributing members of their communities. The Fund is also interested in supporting organizations in programs that offer less advantaged individuals a chance to participate in activities designed to improve their quality of life.
- Historic Preservation – To preserve Indiana's historic structures. This may be done directly through historic building restoration or through support to communities to assist them in preserving their historic past.
- Well-Being of the Jewish People – To meet the general welfare needs of central Indiana 's Jewish community. Support is also provided for activities that improve relations between the Jewish community in central Indiana and other groups or the general public.
