Rethinking Philanthropy

CICF and its affiliates, The Indianapolis Foundation and Hamilton County Community Foundation, have always focused on helping individuals, families and corporations make philanthropy personal, meaningful and enjoyable, but we know that charitable giving strategies look different for everyone. It’s time to rethink philanthropy.

We want to make charitable giving equitable, easy and fulfilling. Encouraging people to be generous, support our neighbors, and leave our community, and the world, a better place is a privilege CICF has had for more than 100 years.

Philanthropy is changing—it’s becoming more dynamic, so, we are too. CICF and its affiliates have eliminated the minimum requirement to open a donor-advised fund*. We want to partner with everyone interested in starting a charitable giving fund at their local community foundation.

Our donor-advised funds are the same as charitable gift funds at banks or other financial institutions—with a BIG exception: we’re local. Your fees stay local, an online fund holder account suggests local funding opportunities, and our professional philanthropy experts can help support your charitable giving.

Now, it’s easier than ever to put your charitable giving goals into action with CICF and its affiliates with no minimum to open a fund and competitive, low annual fees.

  • Open a fund online today
  • Make and track all your charitable gifts from one fast,
    secure online platform

  • Keep your fund and fees local

*The annual administrative fee for all donor-advised funds is 1% of the fund balance, with a minimum annual fee of $250, and is tiered for funds with a balance in excess of $1,000,000. These fees fund the work of CICF. Unlike commercial donor-advised funds, our fees stay local and are invested back into our community.
