About the Efroymson Contemporary Arts Fellowship
Now in its 8th year, the Efroymson Contemporary Arts Fellowships were established to increase public awareness of contemporary visual art in the Midwest. The intent of the fellowship is to reward creativity and encourage emerging and established individual artists by supporting their artistic development. Each fellowship year, five artists are selected by a national selection committee to each receive a $20,000 award. Since 2004, The Efroymson Family Fund has awarded $700,000 to 35 Midwest contemporary visual artists who have resided in either Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky or Ohio.
The 2013 Efroymson Fellows were honored at a private reception on June 13 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. The recipients were among 265 artists who submitted applications.
